Metropolitan Governance and Strategic Planning â⬠MyAssignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about the Metropolitan Governance and Strategic Planning. Answer: Introduction The paper discussed about the governance and management for principal urban regions of Australia. Here, argument includes major reforms of metropolitan governance where the governance is among the scholars, policy makers, professionals of the urban areas and the general republic (Ahrend et al., 2014). The premises include the urban governance failures which manifest threats to the sustainability, and the security with global economic instability and the climatic changes. The shift is stronger with explicit metropolitan governance. Our focus is to evaluate the case of decision making in Australia where the emphasis is terms as government deficit with effective institutional arrangements for planning of urban development and coordinating the services like infrastructure. For the cities to work on different types of production, servicing, marketing and innovation, it becomes important for them to shift form manufacturing to service-based economy. This will increase the rate of flux with capital movement in the states. It also helps in governing cities to be entrepreneurial and concerned with attracting and retaining investments which include the globalised translation companies and their employees. As per the history of Melbourne, it is indicated that there is a need to evaluate the case for re-instating the integrated land use planning which is important for distinctive social, environmental and the economic challenges (Buxton et al., 2016). Considering the issues related to strategy planning, there is a disjuncture between the planning goals and the realities. It includes the codified system for regulating and then approving the use of land for better development. the planning can be either regulatory or facilitative which has been designed for public interest or for transferring the power to the individuals. The frameworks are defined for land use planning system (Flyvbery, 2002). Here, the planning strategy looks for achieving the desirable future outcomes which can create path dependencies to determine the ways of living. The example is the priority given to the infrastructure of road over the investments mainly where public transport infrastructure abides reliance on the cars with expanding investments in roadways. The planning decisions can help in creating path dependencies which could be for determining the living for decades to come and focus on continuing priority for the road infrastructure over investment (UN Sustainable Development Goals Victorian State Government, 2017) Strategic urban planning The strategic planning is a continuous process set through time which includes the shaping of cities, towns and the proper management development, infrastructure and the services. A proper balance is set with environment and natural standards to meet the needs of community with cultural significance (Gupta et al., 2015). The planning is depending upon providing opportunities for better structure with guiding development investments and protecting the values related to urban characteristics. The issues in the planning comes with the sustainable, growth and development, diversified population and better infrastructure and transportation. The major purpose of the planning is to involve the contexts and histories, with government functions, role of planners and their perception. For urban planning, the theories are defined to inform practice which could be accumulated through the practice knowledge which comes from practitioners (Thampson Maginn, 2012). The theories are depending upon conflicting pressures which include place of work, location, profession body and education. Apart from this: The economic planning is the technocratic exercise for economic management. The physical development planning which includes the building of land regulations like the property rights, zoning and the other master plans (Trundle, 2016). The policy analysis and the planning are effective with efficient public administration. This is based on the scientific analysis with de-politics planning. The Planning and Environment Act 1987 is to enable the range of strategic and statutory documents with focus on planning the use, development and land protection. Prevailing justifications The justifications are based on system approaches to plan about system thinking, complexity and connectivity. The planning is based on handling the normative approaches which includes the social principles and the target goals. The collaborative and the consultative approach to planning is based on comprehensive planning (Henderson, 2016). The challenges are based on understanding the strength, application, limitations and the complexities (Lowei, 2018). Hence, the challenge to integrate is important for community engagement and handle the stronger principles with rigorous evidence bases and analysis. The planning is about creating a better and a sustainable world with political agendas and the stakeholder engagement. The metropolitan regions are mainly to handle the infrastructure provision, service delivery and the local or regional governance (Harrison Hoyler, 2014). Here, the local government is relatively working on the leading policy roles across the different cross-functional areas which are considered under the province of state like education or the health and development. The roles and responsibility are to work on detachment which is important to safeguard against the egregious governance failures which includes ad-hoc and reactive decision making which comprise of policy objectives (UN Habitat, 2007). The strategic planning is based on predicting and providing manner with making decisions depending upon path dependency. Here, strategic spatial planning implies different public benefits that only government can deliver along with requiring a proper coordination, integration and intervention from the government. For the federal Government: The roles and responsibilities include contribution to infrastructure funding like roads. The policy statements include National Urban Policy Framework (2011) and the Smart Cities Plan (2016). For the State Government: The responsibilities for the planning system includes the strategic and the statutory part with focus on land, water and planning the energy with environment (Healey, 2009). The local government needs to focus on the decision making with the public health, management of the council property and the environment changes. The assets and the infrastructure management also need to be checked like the roads, public lighting etc (Buxton et al., 2016). The issues are related to frequent changes in weather events like the cyclones, floods etc. The increased temperature and the sea level could be the major issues. Address key urban issues and challenges There are major implications on the biodiversity, use of water, energy, food, pollution and the change in climate. The water impacts could be the access to the water demands is subjected to increase by 55% from demands which are related to urbanisation (Searle Bunker, 2010). There is a need of land and water area for maintaining the sustainability to provide energy, water, food and other materials. The planning is important for the government with auditing and regulating the actions related to governance. The changes are recognized with enabling the rapid spread of things with neo-liberalism that it entails. The changes to western government is associated to government who should intervene a little in the operations of free market. There are other implications of neo-liberalism with public sector expenditure, taxation or the indebtedness (Stilwell Troy, 2000). The competitiveness tenders for different government tasks, with removal of constraints on market, which is done through the deregulation process of labour market and financial systems. Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed Essay Example
Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed Paper Everyone has a different way of learning. Some enjoy listening to lectures and taking notes, others enjoy having a hands-on learning experience, and there are other people that enjoy doing both.I will be discussing two learning techniques that Paulo Freire discussed in his analysis of a teacher-student relationship entitled, Pedagogy of the Oppressed. One of the techniques discussed is called the banking concept, and the other is called the problem-posing method. I willfirst discuss the concept of banking, where you have the students as depositories and the teacher is the depositor. With the teacher, or educator, as the narrator in the classroom, the students are lead to memorize what is said. For example, the educator may say, The square root of 100 is 10.Later, when asked what the square root of 100 is, the students will respond with the answer 10, without knowing how they got the response. To the teacher, the more information that is fed to the students, the better he or she is as a teacher. In education, there must be a solution of the teacher-student contradiction, but this solution cannot be found in the banking concept. In contrast, this banking system maintains the contradiction through the following practices: (1) the teacher teaches and the students are taught, (2) the teacher knows everything and the students know nothing, (3) the teacher thinks and the students are thought about, (4) the teacher talks and the students listen, (5) the teacher disciplines and the students are disciplined, (6) the teacher chooses and enforces his choice, and the students comply, (7) the teacher acts and the students have the illusion of acting through the action of the teacher, (8) the teacher chooses the program content, and the students adapt to it, (9) the teacher confuses the authority of knowledge with his or her own professional authority. All About Caesar essays
All About Caesar essays Julius Caesar was born on July 13, 100 BC, in Rome. Born in one of the well known and oldest families of Rome, the history of his family can be traced back to Aeneas, the mortal son of goddess Venus. Julius Caesar was named after Julius, the son of Aeneas. Son of rich parents, his upbringing was modest. Julius Caesar, unlike other boys of his time, knew no luxury like jewels, expensive clothing and exotic food. His education was also different from that of other boys of his time. Generally Roman boys were tutored by Greek slaves bought by their parents. However, Caesars father, Gaius Caesar and mother Aurelia wanted Caesar to be tutored by a freeman. Gnipho, a gentle scholar was appointed as his tutor. He was a Gaul. From him Caesar learnt Latin, Greek, history, literature and mathematics. He also learned the language and ways of the people of Gaul. The young Gaul Caesar did not know that he would one day conquer and make it a part of the great Roman empire. Caesar spent his days happily, studying and playing with his friend, Marcus Cicero. Three important events occurred in his life. When he was 14, his uncle, Marius appointed Caesar as priest of Jupiter and member of the Sacred College. Caesar was very happy but his joy was short lived. His uncle died suddenly and two years later Caesar lost his father. After his fathers death, Caesar found a companion in his mother Aurelia. She was a woman of great wisdom and strong character. She devoted herself to the upbringing and betterment of her child and watched his career grow with pride. Suddenly the peace was shattered and the rule of the Popular Party came to an end. Sulla and 40,000 troops landed at Brindisi located at the heel of the Italian boot on the Adriatic coast to march into Rome. He was determined to take revenge against the people and Popular Party for overthrowing his government. Sulla was victorious and entered Rome with his army, where he was proclai...

Awareness of the Importance of the Qualities Necessary for the Nurse - Personal Statement
Awareness of the Importance of the Qualities Necessary for the Nurse - Patience, Social Responsibility, Compassion, the Ability Not to Harm the Patient Personal ment Choosing a future procession is a crucial task. When making such an important choice, one should not take into account the fantasies from our childhood. Children like to dream to become a respected surgeon or a famous actress, but when they are grown up, such desires seem just fantasies and the time comes to make a serious choice. Making this choice it is essential to evaluate our abilities and personal qualities to determine if they match the profession we like. I always liked the profession of a physician, but I also understood that such a profession demands much responsibility and very special qualities. Thus, I evaluated the features of my character and my abilities before making such a crucial choice and made a conclusion that I have all the necessary features and abilities. Everything depends on how you treat people. I like people and always try to help those in need. The profession of a nurse allows to realize a desire to help and assist people who appear in diff icult situation. My aim is not to earn a big money, but to be as useful for the society as it is possible. This is the reason why I chose a profession of a nurse. The important quality the nursing profession demands is patience. My friends and parents consider me to be very patient and careful. A nurse should not be absentminded and I always tried to eliminate the minor signs of this drawback from my character. I also like to acquire knowledge in the process of practice as theoretical knowledge should be accompanied by practical. The profession of nursing allows to work in laboratory where it is possible to test your knowledge. I am ready to be responsible and account for my deeds. I understand well that a primary obligation of a nurse is to help and the most important principle is ââ¬Å"do not harmâ⬠. If a nurse causes any harm to patient, it is considered to be a crime. If a nurse refuses to help a person in need, it is also a serious crime. I understand the seriousness of the profession I chose and know that if I become a nurse, I will hold a legal responsibility for everything I will do and I am ready for that. All kinds of education are good and useful. Choosing profession we should not make emphasis on the degree, but on the profession itself. Good care does not depend on the degree, it depends on the personal qualities of nurses, their desire and readiness to help. Still, I value education very high. I think a nurse should be educated to provide a high-quality help that is why I decided to receive a degree in nursing. I think that nurses should continue to develop their knowledge in order to benefit patients, because their state is a top priority. Good education is necessary for the nursing profession, that is why I aim at receiving a degree and continue the study in order to make my help as valuable as possible.

Research psychology - Essay Example The feared situations can vary from interpersonal social interactions in small groups to talking to strangers. Performance fears, such as speaking in public, also are common. People with social anxiety disorder either avoid feared situations or experience them with extreme anxiety. Most individuals with the disorder have the more severe, "generalized" type, in which the person has other social fears in addition to the common fear of public speaking. Many researchers have conducted research in the area with varying recommendations. Much has been researched on social anxiety and how it affects peoplesââ¬â¢ lives. Usually many researches have looked at the causes of social anxiety and how it could be treated. SARA W.holds that oneââ¬âfifth of patients with social anxiety disorder also suffers from an alcohol use disorder (AUDs). They have argued that one of the theories that can be attributed to this is the tension reduction theory, which proposes that people with social anxiety use alcohol to alleviate their fears. This expectation that alcohol reduces anxiety may motivate alcohol consumption even if pharmacological studies do not support that assumption. She holds that social anxiety disorder is treatable with both pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Some researchers have also attributed social anxiety disorders to environmental risk factors such as parenting (Ollendick & Hirshfeld-Becker, 2002). Although the role of parenting has emerged as a small but significant risk factor, less research has focused on parent psychopathology. This lack of attention may be due, in part, to the difficulty in separating out genetic contributions from environmental impact. Despite this, there is some evidence that parents with specific disorders contribute significantly to an increased rate of many childhood and adolescence disorders, potentially even within a particular developmental pathway (Stranger 1999; Burstein

MARKETING - Essay Example The consistent general theme in the advert is financial sobriety in the young generation. The most consistent features in the advert are saving, financial education, banking choices, giving to charity, financial issues and unemployment. The advert, feed the pig, is related with the leading article. The advert encourages saving among the young generation whereas the article talks about financial issues. There is no competition for this advertisement simply because the advertisement is a government initiative. The advert is for the American young adults who are subject to financial crippling and unemployment. The advert categorically asks the reader to teach about money and encourage teens and young adults to start saving from the little they have in piggy banks or financial institutions (ADWEEK Web). This is a good investment in that ADWEEK being a national magazine covering all issues including those relating to the teens it will thus provide a basic avenue for the advert to reach the young adults and guardians. In conclusion, I find this advert very positive to the financial aspects of the young people and the entire economy. The government initiative has placed this advertisement in the right place and therefore a worthwhile endeavor.
